ORIGINS AND ASPECT
Schist is a medium-grade metamorphic or argilous sedimentary rock with medium to large, flat, sheet-like grains called "rock sheets".
Several quarries are explored in the region, therefore tones may vary from lighter to darker, with veins varying in thickness.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE
Its dark color and deep tone make it a unique kind of rock, for both indoors and outdoors, as well as for furniture and craftsmanship.
Can be finished in a large variety of techniques, from polished tiles to flamed or antique, as well as sanding or smoothed.
